First Black female winner of Book and Author of the year at the National Book Awards. Her book Queenie was adapted for Channel 4. Candice’s drama, Champion , aired on BBC and Netflix. Her new book, Queenie is Working on It sees Queenie, navigating her 30s – dealing with fertility, medical treatment, racism, friendships, grief and terrible hen-dos. Candice is one of the most important cultural writers writing today, a passionate advocate for Black voices and writing content that is relatable amongst women. Candice will talk about her journey as a writer, writing the experience of Black womanhood beyond tramua-led tropes and why she is returning to Queenie now.
